I'm not really sure what this blog is going to be yet.
I really wanted the name Nom Nom Nom but since everyone except my mum already has a blog, that name and every reasonable variation thereof is long gone. Annoyingly, not one of those variations has a single damn post, so all those forward-thinking name-thieves are thwarting my plans for no good purpose.
At least, that's what I was thinking until I remembered a quote from my favourite author, Cormac McCarthy. There's a Cormac McCarthy quote for nearly every situation, I find, and this one is particularly all-purpose. It's from The Crossing.
"So everything is necessary. Every least thing. This is the hard lesson. Nothing can be dispensed with. Nothing despised. Because the seams are hid from us, you see. The joinery. The way in which the world is made. We have no way to know what could be taken away. What omitted. We have no way to tell what might stand and what might fall."
So while I'm still cross that the brilliant name I intended to use for a food blog is being squandered on a blank page, I'm just going to run with the idea that Everything Is Necessary might work out even better somehow.
